The hardcoat anodize process can be accomplished through Black Fluorocarbon, Silver Impregnate or Anolube III. AnoLube III provides manufacturers with the low weight and low cost advantages of aluminum, the abrasion resistance of hardcoat anodize, and the lubricity of TeflonŽ. RIT's Formula SAE car included Anoplate's hard coat anodize applied to several components of the power train. The RIT car was chosen to participate in further international competition, where it was one of the top finishers. Its use on this car is proof positive of its resistance to abrasion.
